What Causes Dark Circles & Eye Bags?

Ageing is one of the most significant causes of dark circles and eye bags. When we lose collagen and elastin, the skin under our eyes becomes thinner and is more prone to sagging. As a result, the fat pads beneath the eyes protrude and dark circles form.

Lifestyle factors - such as a lack of sleep, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and a diet high in sodium - can also lead to the concern. Sun exposure overtime can too accelerate the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibres that would otherwise keep the skin under our eyes supple.

How Can I Treat Dark Circles & Eye Bags

Dermal Fillers

Made of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers plump the under eyes to improve the appearance of eye bags. These injectable gels are strategically placed beneath the skin’s surface to restore lost volume and reduce discolouration.

Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are specifically designed to treat dark circles and eye bags. Containing amino acids and hyaluronic acid they stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to reduce fine lines, dark circles and puffiness around the eyes.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are derived from fragments of DNA to up-regulate fibroblast cells. In turn, they boost the production of collagen and elastin to restore skin elasticity and improve tissue regeneration under the eyes.

Hydrafacial

Hydrafacials reduce the appearance of fine lines, improve skin texture and boost hydration to enhance your natural glow. The treatment can be combined with an 'Eye Perk' which solely focuses on the appearance of the under eyes.

How Can I Prevent Dark Circles & Eye Bags?

Preventative measures are key for reducing the appearance of dark circles and eye bags. You should -

Aim to get 7-9 hours sleep per night.

Eat a well-balanced diet and limit sodium intake.

Avoid dehydration by drinking at least 2-3 litres of water per day.

Protect your skin from sun damage with SPF.

Use a dermatologically tested eye cream every morning and night.
