What Is Dermal Filler Dissolving?

Whether you're looking to move away from the 'overfilled' trend and opt for more natural features, or you're unhappy with a treatment you've received elsewhere, we can use an enzyme called Hyaluronidase to safely extract excess or migrated filler from specific areas of the face.

The treatment - often known as dermal filler removal - will speed up the natural degradation of filler, allowing it to be absorbed by your body.

How Does Dermal Filler Dissolving Work?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) based dermal fillers are designed to gradually degrade over time. But by dissolving the dermal filler early, we can speed up this process.

At a bespoke consultation with Nurse Georgi or Danni, we'll assess the filled area to pinpoint areas of migration, lumps or swelling. We'll prepare an enzyme called Hyaluronidase to break down the excess filler - as this can sometimes cause an allergic reaction, we'll always conduct a patch test first.

The procedure can be painful, so we'll administer numbing cream to the area first. We'll then inject the affected areas to break down the existing dermal filler, revealing your natural features again.

There may be swelling, but this will be subside within three to seven days.

Can You Correct Dermal Filler After Removal?

Following your dermal filler dissolving, we'd advise you to wait a minimum of two weeks before getting the dermal filler re-injected. This will give the Hyaluronidase enzyme enough time to dissolve the old filler completely.

It will also give your skin the time it requires to heal so that any new filler introduced isn't rejected by the body.

We'll book a follow-up course of treatment taking into account the reasons you had your previous filler dissolved in the first place.

How Long Will It Take To See Results From My Treatment?

You may experience minor swelling from your dermal filler dissolvingl treatment. However, this is completely normal - it means that the Hyaluronidase enzyme is working as it should.

Results can be expected to follow within three to seven days when you should start to see the full effects of your dermal filler removal.

As Hyaluronidase keeps working for 14 days, we'd advise you to wait 2 weeks to experience the full results.
