What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses a device containing needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body's natural wound healing processes, including the production of collagen and elastin.

As a result, the treatment can improve the appearance of scars, wrinkles, stretch marks and uneven skin tone.

What Does Microneedling Help With?

At our aesthetic clinic in Kent, regular microneedling sessions will promote skin regeneration to improve the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, large pores and stretch marks.

To achieve the most effective results, it's crucial that your microneedling is performed by a trained professional, like Nurses Georgi and Danni. This will also minimise the risk of complications.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin using a dermapen equipped with fine needles. These micro-injections trigger the body's natural wound healing processes, which includes the production of new collagen and elastin fibres.

As the skin heals from the micro-injuries, it becomes smoother, firmer, and more even in tone and texture.

The tiny channels created by the microneedling process also enhance the absorption of topical skincare products, making them more effective.

How Long Will It Take To See Results?

After your first microneedling session, you will notice an immediate glow and a smoother skin texture. But significant and longer-lasting results will become more apparent after a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart.

Continued improvements will be seen in the weeks following your treatment with Nurse Georgi or Danni as collagen and elastin remodelling continues.

Microneedling Treatment Summary

How Much Does Microneedling Cost?

At our medical aesthetic clinic in Kent, Microneedling is priced from £90 per treatment.

Microneedling Aftercare

After your treatment, you may experience redness, mild swelling and sensitivity. To reduce these symptoms, you should apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated, avoid sun exposure for at least a week and makeup for 24 hours.

Who Is Microneedling Suitable For?

Microneedling is generally suitable for anyone looking to improve the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone, stretch marks, large pores and overall texture. However, it isn't suitable for pregnant women or individuals with active skin infections, such as acne flare-ups or cold sores

Pre-Treatment Tips

Before your treatment, avoid blood-thinning medication such as ibuprofen, and refrain from drinking alcohol.

Discontinue the use of retinoids, AHA's and BHA's and avoid excessive skin exposure.

Suggested Interval For Microneedling

At Sorella Aesthetics, we recommend that you receive Microneedling every four to six weeks.
